As an engineer I find it interesting that air purifiers list square feet as their main filtering specification. They really should list CFM (ft^3/minute) at each power setting. I mean who’s to say if you’re in a 400ft^2 room with vaulted ceilings or you have 7.5′ ceilings?
P.S. – If the cost to make these units ever got out…. i swear customers would burn down these buildings. You pay the engineering costs once. These units really need to stop being sold for 3x-15x the production costs.

what if i use both a uv hvac purifier and a portable 170sq ft purifier in the main living room. is this beneficial or is this useless for pet dander, and asthma problems?

This is really good information about the problems with most companies – they don’t educate people to what they need

One more thing however… a UV or ozone type purifier in the duct (and of course a HEPA at the furnace/ac) is a good way to keep mold and dust from accumulating in an air duct…But I wouldn’t count on that making the room alot cleaner/or at least as clean as I like.

  9. markedwr2003 says:

Here’s the problem with whole-house units- the air ducts are designed to deliver cold and hot air, not to circulate air around a room so unfortunately they don’t do a great job at cleaning. The amount of flow needed to move all the air, and move it around corners, etc. usually means that you need one in each room (sorry!! It’s a great idea).

what about whole house central purification systems? recommendations?

  11. markedwr2003 says:

Ecoquest is Ozone. Good for mold and smoke.. not good for allergens

Is there a decent purifier you would recommend for around 200 bucks?

  16. ShooterInfinity says:

Thanks for this upload mark, I’m 21, fairly ignorant to air purifiers obviously, so I get all these commercials from Oreck and Sharper image about their fan-less, filter-less purifiers, and I really just can’t take their word alone for the quality of their products.

  17. 2bdefacto says:

How many square feet is this for?

  18. nj4charles says:

It’s hard to compare these air purifiers/cleaners. I’m looking at the Rabbit Air MinusA2 and it’s almost twice the cost however looks like it’s one of the best ones out there. Hard to believe that for mentioning an ad, a company would just slash $100 off too. I think not many Rabbit Air videos here possibly due to the cost of the unit too. :(

  19. truthckerity says:

I appreciate. I had almost decided to to buy 3 units of the one with the O at the beginning of it.

thanks this was just what i needed

  21. ecobizness says:

As with any business, the goal is to make sales and please the public. I commend your work in this video. HOWEVER, Ecoquest is by far the best on the market. The Pentagon entrusted Ecoquest with the task of cleaning their air. We are also in the 911 Memorial Museum. Science is behind us and we have proved time and agian that we are the best.

What about a Bionaire BAP1700? And when ya say UV, you mean the radiation?
